Hiking
Summertown is the perfect locale for hiking enthusiasts, as we are surrounded by trails along the iconic Natchez Trace Parkway. Each trail is unique, with some featuring waterfalls and others providing iconic overlook views. Exploring Tennessee’s natural beauty is as easy as putting on your boots, sunscreen, and backpack and pulling into the trailhead parking lot.
Bicycling
The same appeal that Summertown has on hikers is equally as strong for our off-road biking enthusiasts. Each hiking trail is equipped with paths that can handle casual or high-adrenaline bikers. The roads can handle your bikes, but the real question is, can your bikes handle the bumpy Tennessee terrain?
Amish Community
Explore a way of life different from your own by interacting with the Amish community located in nearby Ethridge, Tennessee. Since 1941, the Amish community has grown within this small town to encompass over 300 families who work together to create a thriving town. The Amish welcome guests and tourists, offering tours and classes that educate outsiders on their way of life. They even offer unique souvenirs and knick-knacks you can’t find anywhere else.
Yoders Market
Our campers have access to a local market that is only two minutes east of our cabins. Yoders Market has been owned and operated by an Amish family for decades, and offers a variety of baked goods, spices, and deli sandwiches that our campers love. While staying at Cabins Off the Trace, be sure to visit this market for unique goods that are hard to find elsewhere and experience Amish hospitality firsthand.
Meriwether Market
In the other direction, located two minutes west of our cabins, is the popular Meriwether Market. This family-owned store doubles as a restaurant, offering local residents exceptional breakfast, lunch, and dinner options that are irresistible. Inside the country store is a wide selection of grocery items, outdoor gear, and snacks for your cabin adventure.
